5 Day Service Trip to the Dominican Republic to work on a water project

Name, Image, & Kindness is a purpose-driven leadership program developed by BLUE Missions aimed at connecting student-athletes to purpose through education, mentorship, and action. The inaugural cohort will consist of 10 student-athletes who will learn about how they can use their platforms for the greater good.
Educational topics include leadership development, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and self-discovery of the passions that lie within each of us. Each member of the cohort will be paired up with a professional athlete from their university and will receive mentorship and guidance from someone who has been in their shoes before.
The program concludes with a 5-day immersion experience in the Dominican Republic where program participants will work hand-in-hand with locals to solve their water crisis through the construction of a gravity-fed water system. The goal of the program is to help each student-athlete discover their purpose and realize the power that they have to change the world. At the conclusion of the program, each participant will receive a grant in the amount of $3,000 to address an issue that they are passionate about.
Our field team works with local community leaders to design and construct water systems that pump clean water from a source to a faucet in every home using gravity. Volunteers that travel with us work alongside locals to carry and glue pipe through the hills, dig trenches using picks and shovels, mix cement and lay blocks for the water holding tank.
Local leaders are the owners of their water projects and are trained to maintain the system long into the future.
